# Stream Get Store Variable Action

With the help of the Stream Get Store Variable Action, it is possible to read out a store variable that exists in the [Stream Variable Store](/helmut4-releases/helmut4-components/streamdesigner/stream-variable-store.md) by specifying the name (key) of the variable.

The value of the variable is then available in the form of the node results and can be read out using the wildcard {[node.result.?](/helmut4-releases/helmut4-components/streamdesigner/wildcards/result-or-return-wildcards-2/node-result.md)).

Another option to receive the value of a Store Variable would be by using the wildcard [Store Variable ?](/helmut4-releases/helmut4-components/streamdesigner/wildcards/variable-related-wildcards-3/store-variable.md).

{% hint style="danger" %}
Keep in mind to ***use only the variable key*** "test1234" when requesting the variable value.

Using the wildcard "{store.variable.test1234}" would lead to an issue due to syntax error.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.helmut.de/helmut4-releases/helmut4-components/streamdesigner/nodes/actions/misc-21/stream-get-store-variable-action.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
