# Fail Action

The Fail Action node can intentionally fail an entire stream or trigger a failure under a specific use case. Failing a stream—such as when connected to an FX trigger—will also halt any subsequent streams in that trigger. For example, if the second of four streams terminates with a Fail Action node, all following streams will be skipped.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Usecase**\
This node is applicable only to FX streams.\
The equivalent for IO, CO, and HK is the [Job Status Update Action](/helmut4-releases/v4.9.1/helmut4-components/streamdesigner/nodes/actions/job-action/job-status-update-action.md) node.
{% endhint %}

It is possible to add a trailing node after the Fail Action node; in that case, only the fail exit can be used.
