Cosmo Add Info To Sequence Action

The Cosmo Add Info to Sequence Action node writes markers and/or metadata from the stream back to the originating sequence in Cosmo.

Instead of attaching information to an exported media file, this node applies the collected data directly to the source timeline (sequence). This allows analysis or quality-control results to be visible to editors inside Premiere Pro or After Effects.

The node is typically placed after processes that generate markers or metadata within the stream.

Typical Use Case

A common workflow is quality control after rendering:

  1. A sequence is exported (for example via an AME render job).

  2. The rendered file is analyzed by an external QC tool (e.g., QScan).

  3. The QC system returns detected issues to the stream as markers.

  4. This node writes those markers back onto the original editing sequence.

As a result, editors can review QC warnings directly on the timeline rather than reading a separate report.

Input Parameters

Add Metadata If enabled, metadata collected during the stream is written to the sequence.

Add Marker If enabled, markers collected during the stream are written to the sequence timeline.

Auto Sync If enabled, the sequence is synchronized automatically when the project is opened. If disabled, the sequence will appear as pending synchronization in the panel and must be synced manually.

Synchronization Behavior

The information written by this node becomes visible in the host application (e.g., Premiere Pro) after synchronization with Cosmo. If Auto Sync is disabled, the panel will indicate that a synchronization is required.

Execution Notes

  • Applies information to the sequence, not to the exported media file

  • Uses markers and metadata already present in the stream

  • Can be executed on client workflows connected to a project

  • Supports asynchronous execution

Practical Benefit

This node is particularly useful for automated QC workflows. Editors can immediately see detected problems (such as black frames, audio silence, or format violations) directly on their timeline, allowing fast correction without manually locating issues in the exported file.
