# Convert Date To Timestamp ?

With the help of this wildcard, an existing date can be converted to a Unix timestamp (always includes date and time). The time will always be interprested as 00:00:00. The wildcard is used in the following way:

* {convert.date.to\_timestamp.?}
* For the following input (?) -> 2020-03-21
* The output is going to be -> 1584748800000 \[Unix timestamp]

{% hint style="warning" %}
The input format for the date should adhere to the following pattern: YYYY-MM-DD.\
It is not possible to use a date-time string for this wildcard!
{% endhint %}
